Meet Amanda
Hello to this BEE-utiful community of families and Bees! My name is Amanda and I am a proud owner of this company that has had the distinct pleasure of serving the greater Phoenix area for over a decade! I have a passion for community building and mentorship, so as a born and raised Phoenician, I built this company upon that foundation. I was thrilled to welcome my own daughter into the world in 2023 and become, not only an owner, but a Busy Bees parent as well! My family and I currently reside in sunny San Diego, and were honored to open our first Hive in California. I am filled with gratitude for the legacy Busy Bees has become! Our first Bees are now Hive parents and my own child is now a little one in the Hive. Here’s to an ama-ZZZZZZ-ing future with Busy Bees Babysitting!
Meet Katrina
Hi there! I’m Katrina. With a love for kids and a passion for business, I was eager to find a way to make a positive difference in the childcare space. While completing a graduate program in business leadership, I connected with Amanda and learned about Busy Bees Babysitting. I was excited to apply my skills to help grow this platform, serve more Families, create more opportunities for Bees to earn income through babysitting, and ultimately create the sweetest memories for kids along the way!
The beginning of Busy Bees
Founded in May 2014, Busy Bees Babysitting started when founder Amanda Berco realized she was organically connecting Parents with local, fun-loving, and reliable babysitters. With a deep passion for and history of mentorship, she became the go-to person for connecting her friends with growing Families and the girls she was mentoring. As the Busy Bees community and network began to expand, Amanda and co-owner Katrina Brumm embarked on developing and launching the Busy Bees Babysitting app. Launched in 2015, the app streamlined the booking process with in-app messaging, payments, and on-demand booking.
The best part is the beautiful cycle that has naturally emerged from the Busy Bees network. Women who were once Bees with Busy Bees Babysitting are now in the Parent role, and Hive kids who were babysat by a Bee are now babysitters for Busy Bees themselves—helping to create the same incredible memories of playing, crafting, and laughing that they experienced with their Busy Bees sitters when they were little.
